Picking dates

The date harvest takes place mainly in autumn (September-December), when the fruits turn from yellow/red to brown and reach their full flavor. This traditional, manual process requires skilled workers who climb palm trees to pick the clusters or shake them, sorting the fruit before packaging.
Carried out by hand, this careful picking in the southern oases (Tozeur, Kebili) is crucial for the economy and export.
