9th International Festival of Popular Arts of Carthage. Stele from the 8th century

This issue reproduces a 13th century stele, a precious vestige of the Hafsid era, a period of stability and major artistic renewal for Tunisia. The complex calligraphic ornamentation carved into the stone testifies to the excellence of the master craftsmen and the importance of epigraphy in the decorative and funerary arts of this dynasty. This 15 millime stamp allows us to rediscover the beauty of the national lapidary heritage, making the engraved stone a witness to the cultural continuity and historical depth of the country.
