Effigy of Farhat Hached
This 50 millime stamp pays tribute to Farhat Hached (1914-1952), founder of the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT) and emblematic figure of the national movement. Assassinated by the Red Hand (a terrorist organization linked to the protectorate), Hached embodies the inseparable link between the demand for workers' rights and the fight for national sovereignty. Hatem El Mekki's graphics, centered on the UGTT logo (two clenched hands), underline worker solidarity as the basis of resistance. By dedicating this figurine to this martyr, the Republic enshrines trade unionism as a major player in the political history and social justice of the country.
