Manual labor. The range of instruments

Created by the artist Safia Farhat, a pioneer of modern tapestry in Tunisia, this stamp pays tribute to the nobility of craftsmanship and technical know-how. The illustration represents a couple of artisans wearing a badge which brings together the fundamental tools of creation: scissors, hammer, compasses, comb and brush. This subject highlights the complementarity between men and women in the craft sector, a pillar of the Tunisian cultural economy. It is a celebration of the intelligence of the hand, the living heritage and the transmission of artistic crafts which forge the aesthetic and social identity of the country.
