Manual labor. The Chebka
This stamp pays homage to “Chebka”, a traditional openwork lace for which the city of Bizerte is particularly renowned. The illustration shows a craftswoman at work, dexterously handling the drum on which this network of delicate threads is woven. In the background, the purple geometric pattern evokes the finesse and complexity of this artistic craft, a pillar of Tunisian women's heritage. This stamp celebrates patience and the transmission of ancestral know-how which still adorns wedding trousseaus and traditional costumes today, symbolizing the elegance and meticulousness of national cultural identity.
