Tribute to Ibn Khaldoun

This program by Hatem El Mekki honors the most famous Tunisian scholar, Ibn Khaldoun (1332-1406), father of modern sociology and historiography. The portrait, of great finesse, shows him holding a work, symbol of his "Muqaddima" (The Prolegomena), monumental work partly written in Tunisia. The stamp highlights Tunisia's immense contribution to universal thought and historical science. By celebrating this medieval scholar, the Tunisian Republic reaffirms its identity as a land of knowledge and critical reflection, making Ibn Khaldoun a tutelary figure of national intellectualism.
