Protohistory - Protohistoric ceramics from Sejnane
This stamp celebrates the millennia-old origins of pottery craftsmanship in Tunisia through a protohistoric vase from the Sejnane region. The illustration highlights the rustic shape and the incised geometric patterns, characteristics of a know-how which has been transmitted almost unchanged until today among the women potters of the region (UNESCO heritage). Arranged on a background of concentric green squares, the stamp underlines the historical continuity of Tunisian artisanal identity. It testifies to the survival of a technical and aesthetic tradition which directly links current populations to their ancestors of the first millennium BC.
