This large format stamp pays tribute to Ali Douagi (1909-1949), leading figure of the Taht Essour literary group and pioneer of the modern short story in Tunisia. The illustration presents the portrait of the portraitist and short story writer, recognizable by his traditional turban. This stamp celebrates the creative genius of Douagi, nicknamed the “father of the Tunisian short story”, who knew how to depict with irony and tenderness daily life and the changes in Tunisian society between the wars.
