Centenary of the death of Kheireddine and Tounsi
This program pays tribute to Kheireddine Pasha (c. 1822-1890), known as Kheireddine Et-Tounsi, an emblematic figure of Tunisian and Muslim reformism. The portrait represents this statesman in the uniform of a senior officer, wearing the traditional fez. A great reformer and author of the work The surest way to know the state of nations, he was the grand vizier of Tunisia and the initiator of major institutional, educational (foundation of the Sadiki College) and administrative reforms. This stamp celebrates the memory of a visionary who attempted to reconcile the values of Islam with the demands of modernity and the rule of law, making him a pillar of Tunisian intellectual and political identity.
