Tunisian jewelry. The Portrait with Khalkhals and Earrings
This stamp presents the portrait of a woman wearing head and ear jewelry of great finesse, typical of the know-how of the artisans of Tunis and Djerba. There are imposing earrings, often called "Khouros", as well as a richly crafted choker necklace. The face is framed by temple adornments attached to the headdress, illustrating the complexity of Tunisian festive adornment where each element, from granulation to filigree, testifies to the Andalusian and Ottoman influences integrated into local craftsmanship.
