Sixtieth anniversary of Abul Kacem Chebbi
This program pays tribute to the greatest Tunisian poet, Aboulkacem Chebbi (1909-1934), on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of his death. The portrait of the poet wearing his famous red chechia is accompanied by a parchment inscribed with the most famous verses of his poem “The Will to Live”: “When one day the people want life, destiny must inevitably respond. Chebbi is the symbol of intellectual resistance and the aspiration to freedom. His words, which appear today in the Tunisian national anthem, continue to inspire generations with their universal force and their call for the emancipation of peoples.
