50th Anniversary of the UN

Issued for the fiftieth anniversary of the Charter of the United Nations, this stamp features a world map topped with the fiftieth anniversary logo. On the sides, scenes illustrate Tunisia's active contribution to UN missions: humanitarian aid (distribution of food) and peacekeeping (Tunisian soldiers in blue helmets). Tunisia here reaffirms its attachment to multilateralism and world peace. It is a tribute to the Tunisian peacekeepers who, since the 1960s, have participated in numerous peace missions around the world, thus strengthening the country's diplomatic prestige.
