40th Anniversary of the Personal Status Code
Issued in 1996, this stamp by artist A. Fekih celebrates one of the pillars of Tunisian modernity. The illustration shows female hands adorned with gold bracelets releasing a white dove.
The dove symbolizes the freedom and emancipation acquired by Tunisian women thanks to the CSP of 1956. The adorned hands remind us that identity and modernity are not contradictory. It is a tribute to the evolution of civil rights and the dignity of women.
