Bulla Regia is a major archaeological site in northwestern Tunisia (near Jendouba) famous for its unique underground Roman dwellings. These 2nd-3rd century villas, designed to combat the heat, retain exceptional mosaics in place. The city, the ancient Numidian capital, also houses a theater and thermal baths.
