World Philatelic Exhibition "PhilexFrance 99"
The PhilexFrance 99 exhibition, officially named “Mondial du Timbre”, was held from July 2 to 11, 1999 in Paris, at the Parc des Expositions de la Porte de Versailles.
Organized under the patronage of the International Philatelic Federation (FIP), this large-scale event notably celebrated the 150th anniversary of the first French postage stamp, the Cérès issue of 1849.
In addition to the anniversary of the French stamp, the exhibition aimed to introduce philately to the general public and young people through a “cosmic and terrestrial” scenography.
