Common myrtle (Myrtus communis), Rihan
This program is dedicated to the Common Myrtle (Myrtus communis), locally called “Rihan”, a Mediterranean plant emblematic of the Tunisian flora. Beyond its wild presence in the northern maquis, myrtle is deeply anchored in Tunisian traditions for its aromatic and medicinal properties, as well as for its symbolic use during funeral rites and celebrations. The stamp highlights this precious plant heritage, recalling the importance of Mediterranean biodiversity in traditional pharmacopoeia and the local art of living.
