6th Centenary of the Death of Ibn Khaldoun
The 6th centenary of the death of Ibn Khaldoun (1332-1406), celebrated in 2006, marked 600 years of reflection on the work of this major North African thinker, pioneer of sociology, historiography and the philosophy of history. Famous for his Muqaddimah (Prolegomena), he analyzed the mechanisms of the State, social cohesion (asabiyyah) and the cycle of civilizations.
