60th Anniversary of Independence

This stamp celebrates the 60th anniversary of Tunisian Independence (1956-2016), a founding event of national sovereignty. Sihem Chaâbene's graphic composition uses a stylized number "60" from which white birds fly away, symbolizing freedom won and the aspiration for a serene future. The message reaffirms the pride of the Tunisian people in their heritage of anti-colonial struggle and their permanent commitment to the construction of a modern, free and prosperous state, as dreamed of by the pioneers of the national movement.
