Parts of the Manouba Military Museum - Le Bâteau Chébek
The National Military Museum of Manouba, located in the "Palais de la Rose" (18th century), houses more than 23,000 pieces retracing Tunisian military history, from Antiquity to the revolution of 2011. It exhibits weapons, uniforms, and equipment, organized chronologically in five main rooms, with tanks and cannons in its gardens. The image on the stamp represents a model of a ship which is a museum piece kept at the Palace of the Rose (Military Museum of Manouba). The chebec was particularly appreciated by Tunisian corsairs for its speed and maneuverability thanks to its lateen sails.
