Hanging gardens of Djebba in Beja
The Hanging Gardens of Djebba el Olia, located on the slopes of Mount El Gorrâa in the governorate of Béja, are an exceptional agroforestry site recognized by the FAO as an “Ingenious World Agricultural Heritage System” (SIPAM). This mountain village, perched at around 600-700 meters above sea level, uses a system of ancestral terraces irrigated by five natural springs to cultivate unique biodiversity, notably the famous Djebba fig (AOC)
