60th Anniversary of the events of April 9, 1938

This stamp commemorates a founding date of the Tunisian national movement: the bloody demonstrations of 1938 where the people demanded a “Tunisian Parliament”. The illustration shows a large number "60" surrounded by white and blue roses, with the national flag stylized in the shape of a drop or flame in the center. The design evokes the transition from the pain of sacrifice to the flourishing of the nation (the roses).
