Mosbah Jarbou
Mosbah Jarbou, born in 1914 in Beni Khedache and died on May 26, 1958, is a Tunisian fellaga. Coming from the Medenine region, more precisely from Beni Khedache (southern Tunisia), he engaged in the resistance against the French protectorate. In 1952, he led the armed resistance movement against French settlers in southern Tunisia. In 1956, Habib Bourguiba convinced the fellagas to lay down their arms during negotiations for internal autonomy. However, during an air attack by the French army remaining in the south of the country (Remada), Jarbou was killed in 1958. In 1970, Omar Khlifi devoted a film to his combat journey: Les Fellagas. In 2002, a postal stamp with a face value of 250 millimes was issued with his image by the Tunisian Post Office.
